We’ll be honest with you, 2022 has been a challenging financial year for the Boulder Housing Coalition.
Inflation is at a whopping 8% and homeowners insurance costs have skyrocketed. During the pandemic, three of Boulder’s beloved independent co-ops shut down. We know that our organization isn’t the only one struggling. That’s why, in spite of the economic challenges, this as an even more critical time to ensure permanently affordable housing in Boulder. In spite of those challenges, we continue to offer housing at hundreds of dollars below the average market rate in Boulder. In addition, we provide annual trainings and ongoing conflict mediation support at no cost to our residents and numerous other perks such as RTD bus passes, and memberships to Community Cycles and Ego Car Share.
The Boulder Housing Coalition has a mission:
We are dedicated to creating permanently affordable community enhancing cooperative housing for the people of Boulder County.
We won’t let a little climate-change-inflation-rates get in the way of this mission!
To keep this mission alive, The Boulder Housing Coalition and our 65 low-income Boulder residents, need your help.
Colorado Gives Day is an opportunity to give our organization, our mission, and our residents a helping hand at the end of this difficult year. Our goal is to raise over $7,000 between November 1st and December 6th.
How does it work?
The Incentive Fund, created by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, is one of the largest nonprofit fundraising incentives in the country. Every donation made through CO Gives Day during this time is boosted by the fund. This means, your dollar goes further. This means more affordable housing for families and low-income individuals in need. This means more and better trainings in social justice and inclusivity for our community. This means improving the infrastructure of our buildings so that they’re more energy-efficient and environmentally sustainable.
This means a healthier, more diverse, more community-oriented, more sustainable Boulder County!
Now, who wouldn’t want that?
Donations can be as small as $5.
Please help us spread the word by sharing our mission, and our request, with your family, friends, and business partners.
